The rooms we live in shape us. A child who grows up surrounded by beauty, story, and detail learns to notice the world differently than one who grows up in a builder grade beige box. The patterns on her walls, the fabric on her bed, the curtains framing her window, these are not background. They are the daily visual language of her childhood, and they become the standard she carries into her own home one day.
Think about the home you grew up in. You can probably still picture the wallpaper in a certain room, the quilt on a certain bed, the way the curtains filtered the light. That is what a home does. It writes itself into the memory of everyone who lives in it.
A home is a legacy. The woman making one today is deciding what her children will see when they close their eyes in thirty years. Her influence lives in the present moment & develops the future. I design patterns for the brands serving her.

She came of age on Pinterest. She has spent a decade saving rooms from bygone catalogs, her grandmother's house, English country kitchens, and farmhouses that are actual farms. She knows exactly what kind of home she wants to live in.

She also knows the quiet ache of scrolling past beauty she cannot reach. Her generation has been handed a world that runs on efficiency, builder grade construction, and algorithmic loops designed to keep her looking instead of living. The gap between the homes she pins and the home she actually lives in has been widening for years, and she feels it.

She is the one deciding to close that gap. She is putting her phone down and picking up a paintbrush, choosing the wallpaper, hanging the curtains, making the home real. She is protecting her attention, her taste, and her time on purpose.

She wants fruit on her curtains. Florals on her wallpaper. Layered prints on her bedding. She wants her home to mean something, and she is willing to do the work to make it so.

The shelf is full of the wrong things. She is looking for the real thing.
Naturally Antique was founded by Jesika Neemann, an illustrator based in southern Utah. She has been refining the studio's approach to hand drawn pattern work for over a decade, and her designs make up the studio's current licensing catalog. She lives with her husband and six children in a 102 year old home she is slowly restoring, layering pattern and story into the rooms where her own children are growing up. The legacy this studio designs for is the one she is building. The work and the life are the same work.
Every design that leaves this studio begins as a pencil sketch. Petals, fruit, vines, leaves, all drawn by hand before any color is added. Color work is refined digitally, but the hand mark stays. You can see it in the leaf veins, the shadow under a berry, the slight irregularity that tells the eye a human made this.

We design for substrate, not for screen. A pattern that looks fine in a Pinterest thumbnail can fall apart at wallpaper scale. Our work is built to hold up where it matters most: across a full wall, along the length of a curtain panel, draped over a bed, upholstered onto furniture meant to be used for years.
Our inspiration comes from daily life intentionally lived in. The garden in the morning. The hike up the canyon. The bowl of fruit on the counter. Nature is around all of us, all the time. The patterns we make are records of paying attention to it.

Everyone relates to a strawberry, a poppy, a sprig of rosemary. That is the point. These are not exotic subjects pulled from a stock library. They are the things she walks past every day, drawn the way she would see them if she slowed down to look. That is what makes a Naturally Antique pattern feel like the "real thing" the moment it enters her home.
This is what it takes to make patterns that actually close the gap. Anything less is part of the problem.
